good-bye Harrison

We said good-bye to Harrison today. His passing was sudden and unexpected, probably the result of a heart attack. He had a good morning, ate his breakfast with gusto, barked at the birds, and happily greeted Margot, our long-time cleaning woman. Then he just laid down and was gone. It was quick and, I think, painless. I'm glad that I was with him. We just weren't ready to say good-bye yet. He was a good dog and will be missed very much. My heart is heavy.

Oh Susan I'm so sorry!!!! It sounds like Harrison had a great morning doing what he normally does before he took his nap. Great way for him, lousy way for you. (((((hugs))))

I'm so sorry! He was such a beautiful boy! I had wished such a death for my Sam, so that I did not have to make the decicion for him. Still how terrible. :o(

Susan, I'm so very sorry! Harrison went the best way, loving life, but as Lynn said, it's a lousy way for you. Give the rest a hug from me.

I am so sorry for your loss. We put our beloved 11 y/o Dakota down last year. Harrison was very handsome. I work at a vet clinic and when we have passings, I share what I did with Dakota. I asked him "Did you have a good puppy life?" The answer is always 'yes' and that's how I know I did my job. I'm absolutely sure Harrison had a good 'puppy life' and is now prancing under Rainbow Bridge~
Hugs, Laura

Oh no, I am so sorry for your loss! But at least it's good that he seemed to pass away painless and that you were with him. And you didn’t have to make that awful last decision that so many of us have to do at the end of our dogs’ lives about the best time to let them go. I know how you must feel. Hugs from Germany, Tina
