Guess who came to our house tonight while mommy and daddy went out for supper?
She was alert and happy for quite a while before she took this nap. Papa is a good person to snuggle with because he is soft and warm.
This was the first time that Carmen has been out without Berlyn. I'm sure that all mothers can remember how stressful that first time was. She and Berlyn both did very well.

I have the best memory of one of the very first times I left my firstborn with my mother and sister while my husband and I went out to dinner. She did great and was sleeping peacefully when we got back but my sister had a big bruise along her jawline. "My gosh!" I said, "What happened?" My sister looked at me sheepishly. "She was nuzzling me and she just started to nurse there and since she was so sweet and quiet and lovely and seemed to need it, I just...I just LET HER."
