halfway there

The first Tidal Waves sock is done. I used Fearless Fibers merino in the colorway Wisteria. I started the pattern with size 2.0 mm needles but switched to 1.75 mm needles after two pattern repeats. Boy, it sure takes longer to knit a sock on 1.75 mm needles but I think the result is worth it. The fit is great and the sock is very soft but sturdy.

I love how the pattern shows off the yarn. Fearless Fibers is really nice.

Really nice sock. I didn't even know there are 1.75mm needles out there. I thought 2mm was the smallest.

I just finished the BMFA STR Inside Out Socks and they are just as confortable as regular socks but fit tighter if that is a consideration. The toes and heel are no bumpier underfoot than regular stockinette soles because the reverse side of stockinette is very similar to the garter stitch. It took me a while to figure that one out and I don't know why it didn't occur to me sooner.

Thanks for the info, holly in ct! I'll have to start the Inside Out Socks soon. I like tight socks so that a plus for me.

Your sock is gorgeous. Thanks for the link to the pattern. I have some TOFUtsies in my stash. I'll give this pattern a try.

I only do doublepoints, but I don't see why that wouldn't work.

I used 5 double points for this pattern, dee. No problem.
